What is PGDC?
PGDCA is an old computer course or educational program brought by Eastern University in Nepal. The program is being conducted by Kantipur City College in association with this university. This is a one year IT course. Students who have completed PGDCA can build their careers in various fields of information technology. Currently, only Eastern University in Nepal is conducting such courses. This course, which is taught in semester system, is evaluated by GPA method.
Students who have graduated in any subject can study PGDCA. Bringing a minimum second division in graduation is enough to read this subject. There are no rules for IT graduates in IT, science or engineering subjects only. Students of BA, BSc, BEAD and other faculties can easily study PGDCA.
Course Objectives
PGDCA provides students with a detailed knowledge of hardware and software systems. It emphasizes knowledge about the use and development of technology in relation to human lifestyle. Provides information on the analysis, design and development of computer based systems. It also involves students participating in research on current and future technologies. It also helps them to develop entrepreneurial skills. PGDCA also helps to enhance the student’s sound presentation and communication skills.
What are the courses?
In the first semester, subjects like Information Technology Introduction, Digital Logic and Computer Design, Problem Solving and Programming ILC, Data Communications and Networking, Mathematics and Web Technology should be studied. Similarly, in the second semester, subjects like System Analysis and Design, Data Structure and Algorithm, Statistics and Numerical Methods, Database Management System, Object Oriented Programming should be studied.
